Jazz Rebirth Orchestra
Jazz Rebirth Orchestra is an amateur bigband in Hamamatsu, Japan.
We have an history of 28 years!
About JRO:
JRO is a kicks jazz bigband in Hamamatsu, famous as a city of
Japanese musical instrument and motorcycle products makers headoffice;
YAMAHA, KAWAI, Roland, Suzuki and so on.
We established in 1970 as a band of
Hamamatsu Technical Highschool
graduates, later its activity has shifted to anyone around Hamamatsu,
now no one belongs to our band since its establishment.
We love not also classical jazz bands; Count Basie, Duke Ellington etc,
but also contemporary bands; Bob Mintzer, Rob McConel etc. (To say the
truth, Japanese traditional "Enka" is good for us. :-)
Members are consists of twenty-three persons from 23 to 36 of age.
Avarage age is 28 years old.
Nowadays:
The Recital 98 has been held in Forte Hall on 6 December succesfully.
We had two times of encores!
We were introduced on The Shizuoka Shinbun newspaper next morning.
